Her creative practice is mainly focused on hand-painting, natural dyeing and intuitive pattern making for textiles.
Being sustainable and mindful about her materials, inks and dyes is key to her work. Especially so since traveling around Japan and realising about the negative impact of the textile industry on the environment, and at the same time learning about existing natural alternatives that can achieve even better results. In Japan she studied the techniques of indigo, shibori, orizomegami, pigment and natural dyeing which she has since applied to her work and shared in workshops.
Before coming back home to San Sebastian for a new project, she spent 4 months researching creating natural pigment based coloring for textiles using soybeans at the Textile Lab in Amsterdam.
During her trip to Japan she started a collaborative project with her partner, Dutch photographer Ivar Teunissen. Together they create portraits that bring together the art mediums of photography and painting, to combine their respective creative languages and tell a very personal interpretation of people and moments.
